LIZA GERSHMAN is the founder of Farm + Market Press.

An author, photographer, creative director, documentarian, and cultural archivist. Farm + Market: Healdsburg is her twentieth published book.

Her career has taken shape at the intersection of agriculture, hospitality, and culture, alongside farmers, chefs, and hoteliers, preserving food traditions, regional histories, and the cultural life of cuisine, guided by an ethos of curiosity, stewardship, and continuity. Her writing and visual storytelling have been informed by travels across 55 countries and 47 states.

County Fair was named one of Smithsonian Magazine’s Ten Best Books About Food (2021), and Cuban Flavor won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award and was featured by National Geographic as one of the Top 18 Travel Books of the Year (2018). Gershman is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, an international organization honoring women for excellence and leadership in contemporary gastronomy and hospitality.

Her background as an image creator includes senior roles at Williams-Sonoma and leadership as Associate Chair of Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She teaches and lectures internationally, collaborates with Canon USA on national product launches, and is a spokesperson for VSCO, where she curated the VSCO installation for SCOPE Miami Beach 2024 (Art Basel Miami).

Gershman is a Sonoma County native and lives part-time in Healdsburg. Farm + Market: Healdsburg brings together thought leaders, farmers, James Beard– and Michelin-starred chefs, and community voices, charting the conversation between land, craft, and the future of the table.
