Since 1978, the Healdsburg Farmers’ Market has been more than a place to shop, it’s been the heartbeat of our community. Founded by local grower Tom Petersen, the market was born from a simple abundance of cherry tomatoes and a shared desire for a space where farmers and neighbors could connect. Over the years, it has become a vibrant gathering place where seasonal flavors guide the menu, sustainable agriculture is championed, and generations of families, farmers, and chefs come together. From peak spring strawberries to summer’s coveted peaches, the market is a living expression of Healdsburg’s agricultural soul, preserving food traditions, cultivating community, and celebrating the deep relationship between land and table. Today, the market supports 30+ ag businesses, helps preserve 300+ acres of Healdsburg Farmland for diversified ag use and has an estimated annual impact of $1.6M on our community.
