Food is at the heart of our community history, culture, and collective identity. From cherished family recipes passed down through generations to innovative dishes that reflect the diverse flavors of Wine Country, our meals tell a story of togetherness, tradition, and creativity.
This juried competition will select standout recipes from our community that embody the spirit of our Healdsburg, honoring the tastes and traditions of this town. Winning submissions will be featured in the Farm + Market: Healdsburg, set for release in Spring 2026, and may also be showcased on our official website.

1. Ingredients: List ingredients and measurements.
2. Preparation: explain the preparation process for each ingredient and cooking methods for the dish, numbering each step (eg. 1, 2, 3)
4. Introduction and Legacy: share the story of your recipe and family history

Round 2 is all about cozy Autumn/Winter recipes and Appetizers from any season!
Submitting within these themes is highly encouraged but not required.
Round 2 recipe contest closes August 8, 2025.

This is a unique opportunity to showcase the diverse food cultures of our community and how they’ve evolved over time. All community members are encouraged to participate.

Format: Submissions should be formatted in a consistent and clear way to be easily included in the cookbook.
Please submit one recipe per person.

Only complete recipes will be considered.
Recipes must highlight fruits, vegetable and other agricultural items that can be grown in Healdsburg or purchased at the Healdsburg Farmers Market. Regional dishes are encouraged. -
Winners will be featured in the Farm+Market:Healdsburg book. Recipes and dishes may also be used on the website, social media and other media outlets.

Winners will have their recipes featured in Farm+Market: Healdsburg with full credit given.
There will be no runner-up prizes.

The Healdsburg book is anticipated for publication in 2026.
Rolling recipe contest deadlines will be posted at healdsburgbook.com/recipecontest

The recipe judges are a panel of celebrated chefs and community members. Details will be announced before publication.

Eligibility Requirements
Open to Healdsburg residents 18 and older
Recipes should include produce which can be purchased at the Healdsburg Farmers Market or grown in Healdsburg
Participants must indicate whether they are a professional or amateur chef upon submission
Contestants must not have participated in a prior recipe contest for the book
No purchase necessary to enter
Disqualification criteria includes incomplete submissions or recipe copied from published chefs

Recipes will be judged based on the following criteria:
Inclusion of produce which can be purchased at the Healdsburg Farmers Market
Alignment to local agriculture & cuisine
Originality and creativity
Clarity of instructions and formatting
Visual appeal of the dish
Judging Panel: Professional chefs and notable political figures involved in the Farm+Market: Healdsburg project will serve as judges.

By entering, participants grant permission for their recipes and photos to be used for marketing purposes related to the Healdsburg book and on social media and the Healsburgbook.com website
